Frustrated

Today i dont like my hair....its really tangled...and I had to put off my retight for an extra week..i washed it, my scalp was not looking good...did the ACV rinse...its ok...but it REALLY CURLY, i think my locks are more curly that I have ever seen anyones:-) but then again my hair always did have a mind of its own....will post a pic later!

Finally....

I had a hard time figuring out how to post to my blog! Then I forgot the password I had not been on here in a while....Now I have it down...i can start uploading my pics and discussing my Sisterlocks! I hope to blog and post for at least a year.....My Sisterlocks will be a year old...March 27, 2011....

Its been 3 months so far....I love them

I did find out that I DO have micros....they are very small and CURLY....does anyone else have micros???

So Far So Good

Its been a few days since I finished my locs, the install was like 61 hours.....my hair is going to be different which is always the case in dealing with my hair. First of all when I locked it was VERY LONG.....I had so much hair....they are pretty small....a lady with SL's said to me..."I have never seen them that small"....so Im thinkng I might have micros....but I doubt it....they are supposed to swell.....with all the being said...they are so CUTE!!!! I spray my hair in the morning with lemon and water...it curls up....I spray my scalp it feels great! I haven't been itching like I thought I would.....I washed them the same day she finished them....I treated my scalp with ACV and Nizarol Shampoo....I also used the SL shampoo...but I have dandruff so bad I have to use something else......Well I will be back next week.......

MY Sisterlocks

OMG....After two years of yearning and research, I am a part of the Sisterlock family! My install took 61 hours, I have so much hair it was amazing.....my consultant was knowledgable and patient.....pictures are coming! Just hold tight!

Six Days

Six days until I take the plunge! I am ready, however long it takes......Let's go!!!

I feel so ready to take this journey, I could not think of anything else today. I have exactly 7 days until I begin my Sisterlock journey. I'm just ready....

My Journey To Sisterlocks

On March 18, 2010 a new journey will begin in my life. I am going to get Sisterlocks and I am so excited. I love my big curly mass of natural hair, but I am ready to take this journey. I have been through many hairstyles, including regular locks; this time its different…The connection that I have with my hair is amazing. When I was doing research for my film New Growth, I came across so many beautiful women with natural hair who had taken these wonderful journeys and wanted to share them. One common factor that I found in all of these women was the courage that it took to buck the standard of beauty. These women, like myself, questioned the standards of beauty and decided to change it for themselves. I was so happy to connect with so many beautiful sisters who understood how I felt in relation to what was considered beautiful in our community. Today, close to ten years after my journey with natural hair began, I am taking another bold step toward true freedom. I dont know what I am in for, but I am ready to take the ride. Hopefully I will be able to update my blog with pics and progress!
